In Yeti, you are a documentary filmmaker who has set out to film the mythical Yeti in the snowy Himalayan mountains. The game is viewed through a camera lens, and plays like a point and click adventure with an off-kilter sense of humor. So get out there and see if you can find this beatiful beast in his natural habitat.

Continuing on with the winter/Christmas theme (I don't know how much longer I can continue that trend), here is a very well put-together and unique game that takes place in a wintery outerspace region. The game is called Frozzd. This game has you jump from planet to planet, each with their own gravitational pull. This makes the game a bit like a 2D version of Super Mario Galaxy. The planets are all becoming frozen over by an evil alien force and the frostiness is killing off the adorable and somewhat violent Mubbles. You must rescue the Mubbles to save their homes, and to recruit them to help you defeat the ice cold bad guys.
Don't let the generic name and simple graphics fool you, Treasure Adventure Game will charm the pants off of you. This is such a delightful little retro adventure game. You can't help but love it. There is so much cuteness and innocence, and piratey, hook-handed adventure that you will just melt for this adorable little game.
Forgotten Kodama has some of the most impressive graphics I have seen in a free game. It's made by a team of Spanish developers called Hugging Cactus Studios, who happen to have the best company logo ever (watch the trailer intro). Fogotten Kodama is a mix of 3D platforming, hack n slash, and spatial puzzle solving.

A Fistful of cows is a Western-themed hack and slash game about alien invaders and cow abductions. This is an earlier game from a team of similar developers that later brought you Forgotten Kodama, which was yesterday's free game. Fistful of Cows is a cheeky and silly game, and sometimes a little stupid. The graphics are pretty impressive and though the gameplay is a bit repetitive, they try to add a few things to spice it up along the way so it doesn't get too dull. The best feature though is the soundtrack, which includes a bunch of banjo plucking bluegrass covers of classic rock and roll songs (Aerosmith, Metallica, Zeppelin). The music is from a band called Iron Horse.
Dream Ball 64 is a charming little game with lots of rainbows and bright colors. You roll around a ball using your mouse. The farther away you drag your mouse from the ball, the faster it goes in that direction. The game then plays a little bit like Marble Madness. Get the ball through all the hoops and the hit the goal to complete each level. There will be a lot of bumpers, cliffs, and obstacles along the way to keep the game challenging and entertaining.
I'm posting this one a little early because I'm going to be gone much of tomorrow, but I didn't want to leave you without December 14th's game. The game? At A Distance by Terry Cavanaugh (creator of VVVVVV).
Since the holidays are a good time to hang out with friends and relatives, I thought we could use a nice co-op game. You'll need to have 2 pcs or laptops networked together for this one. You and another person will play cooperatively to solve some abstract color/shape puzzles. Each person views the puzzle differently from their own perspective. You will have to talk to each other and compare notes about what you are seeing from your vantage point in order to figure out the puzzles together.
