Yeah, consider the lists given to you to be a "must-have...in the future". The only games I'd recommend seeking out ASAP are Gradius III, Super Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat II, and Street Fighter II Turbo. These are games that, in my opinion, can be played whenever and over and over again.

And instead of DKC2/3, go for Super Metroid or Final Fantasy II next. :P

Some of my personal favorites are: Kirby Super Star, Super Metroid, Super Mario 2: Yoshis Island, TMNT IV, but you are off to a great start already.

Final Fantasy and Mega Man X games are the best the SNES has to offer in my book (although there are dozens of greats).

You have a great system on your hands my friend. I agree with ziggy also. Wait till after christmas because right now games are jumping in price due to christmas. If you can find cheap gems like street fighter and fzero and final fight batman returns etc for 3-4 dollars then go for it but wait till after christmas. That's when people will sell their stuff so they can get money to buy games for the new system's they got for christmas

Haha you guys are mentioning quite a few NTSC games. The Final Fantasy games didn't come out in Europe :(

Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll think about getting some of the NA/JPN exclusives when I get round to buying an import adaptor (or paying for the console to be modded). Having owned a Saturn for a long time, I'm quite used to playing a lot of imports, but just concentrating on PAL SNES games for the moment.

Thanks for everyone's input, I really appreciate it. I indeed wanted to start with some of the best games on the console. I could have picked up a deal, with the console and 10 games for quite a bit less, but decided it was worth shelling out a bit more for games I'm actually going to love. Also, like I said I'm going to wait until after Christmas before buying anymore, so that I can enjoy these games first and save money. Dammit though, it's so tempting to just blow all my cash on all these awesome games

I have to say, the feeling of owning a SNES is pretty damn amazing. I hadn't quite comprehended how awesome it would feel until I received it in the mail yesterday, unboxed it, looked at it placed perfectly still in the polystyrene holders accompanied with instructions. As I plugged it all in and played through the four games with my girlfriend, it felt like being a kid again. Actually, it took me back to the feeling I had 16 or 17 odd years ago when my parents bought me a Mega Drive, or when I bought a Dreamcast back in 2000.

Don't get me wrong, I've played a fair few SNES games in my time and always knew it was one of, if not, THE best console ever, but actually owning one finally (I got sidetracked by other consoles over the years - most recently the PS2 as games are dirt cheap) is brilliant :)
