So many people saying so many good things about this game. I was gonna pass on it but I'm thinking I may pick it up soon. Hopefully Playasia has a holiday sale again this year because buying new Japanese games is so damn expensive, especially with the yen being so strong right now.

Skyward Sword Special Edition will easily cost me like $150 (>_<)

Yeah, it is. But honestly, it works REALLY well and you almost won't notice it. Plus, you probably don't know how the 3D slider works. :P

No, it is definitely not mandatory. I play the entire game in 2D and only turn on the 3D occasionally just to see how an area looks. Personally, I can't stand the 3D and keep it off for all of my 3DS games. I also think the games look a lot sharper in 2D mode.

I have almost beaten the game entirely with the 3d on, it never bothered me at all, and aside from the occasional blur from moving the system too much I forgot it was on some times.

I tried a couple parts with the 3d off and I will say that it does make a difference with placing your jumps, you rely on your shadow much more to know where you will land. Those "3d" rooms are a pretty good example of how it helps too, I turned it off in one and completely could not hit the box.

I have had to take a bit of a break from it since I beat the "final" level of world 8, what comes after is pretty hard, and I am stuck on one of the levels.

Glad everyone seems to like it. I'll put it on my list of games to get for when I pick up a 3DS :D

Unfortunately, PETA does not share your love

I picked up 2 copies today at Kmart for my kids. Kmart had a special this week where you get a $15 off coupon for a future purpose. I'll use those for Mario Kart 7 when it comes out.

I know how the slider works. I still can't stand the 3d for more than a minute. And i don't like playing games on such a small screen either so the combo makes it nearly impossible to play.

Wait till you beat world 8 completely and get to do the special world, the difficulty takes a sharp jump up, especially if you are going for the 3 coins in each level.

I'm at the castke in world 8 but I need 3 or 4 more coins to get in. The cheater box pops up if you die 5 times on a level. It's funny because I never saw it on New Super Mario Bros Wii (one of the best Mario games EVER). I think you had to die ten times in a level to enable it, I wonder why they reduced it to 5? What's next, reducing it to dying once?

The game is pretty good, though. However I do hate the run button. It just doesn't feel right being in a 3D-based Mario game. Also, some new music would have helped. I've heard this shit over and over again since 1990. Yeah, there might be a couple of new tunes but the majority of the game is the old, stale stuff.
