Beer makes me sick, Cider does not. That makes Cider infinitely better than beer. Before I found Cider is was all whiskey and rum for me, I am glad to have something a couple steps lower.

Cider>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>beer.

I'd be supportive of a SS. I've got a handful of unwanted accessories/near worthless games that I could send away.

:O it wouldn't be a mystery box, it would be off a wishlist, but it looks like very few are interested anyways.

God I wish I could find real cider around here. There was a small e. coli outbreak in the 90s, and now everything you can find in the supermarket is pasteurized. Pasteurization essentially turns it into a beverage a lot like apple juice. There's none of the depth of flavor raw cider has. It's really a shame. I could still get real cider directly from the orchards when I lived in NY, but no luck out here.

Wait, didn't we have a beverage thread already?

I made apple cider from scratch once, was a ton of work. Didn't really taste much different from the storebought stuff. Maybe I just buy good brands?

"We already have a thread about x" doesn't stop us these days.

Are we discussing SS or beer, cuz both are interesting topics.

SS, i'd support, but it'd be tough to organize and a few folks would send boxes of shit, so i'd want my santa to be un-secret.

I used to love Ace Pear Cider, I think Old Chicago carries it if you don't have it local in stores. I used to get 3 of their kegs for my kegerator at a time (only came in 5 gallon kegs), great stuff.

If laws about mailing alcohol via the USPS weren't so strict, I'd say we combine the two ideas.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
