Vice Guide to North Korea

This was one of my favorites
I've been getting into and watching as many NK doco's as I can recently. Interesting place.

America overcomes the debt crisis as Britain sinks deeper into the swamp
It's sad to see Europe falling deeper into the hole. They really need to change what they're doing (won't go into it), because it just isn't working. It's not impossible to come out of the current rash of recessions; Canada seems to be doing fine these days.

Gee, you don't say?

You want to have a good economy? Be best buds with China. Seems to be doing all right for us.

Unfortunately, our relationship with China is more akin to that between a banker and someone who's taken out a loan they can never pay back which is so large that default on said loan would sink the bank than it is to "best friends." If we don't stop spending absurd sums of money we don't have, we will soon be no better off than Europe.

Australia does seem to be doing fine. If I had to leave the US, it would certainly be my second choice. Sure, videogames are expensive there, but there are more important things in life than a large collection.

We are doing fine now, but only because we let China mine wherever they want. I fear in 50 years or so when they've exhausted all our resources, they'll pack up and move on elsewhere leaving us with nothing to export and lots of holes.

China jails two Uighurs deported from Cambodia for life

Cambodia was sharply rebuked by human rights groups for deporting the asylum seekers.

Two days after Cambodia deported the Muslim Uighurs in December 2009, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping visited Phnom Penh and signed 14 trade deals worth $850 million. (Note this is not unusual considering the close ties between the two countries)

The two Uighurs were among a group of about 20 who had sought asylum in Cambodia following ethic riots between Uighurs and majority Han Chinese in the capital of Urumqi in July 2009.

It was unclear when the sentences were handed down or what the men had been charged with

Many Uighurs, a Turkic-speaking Muslim people native to East Turkestan, condem Chinese rule and controls on their religion, culture and language.

KATHMANDU, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Nepali 72-year-old Chandra Bahadur Dangi has been awarded two Guinness World Records in Nepali capital Kathmandu on Sunday.

Dangi, weighing 14.5 kilograms and having a height of 54.6 centimeters, was declared by the Guinness World Record officials as the world's shortest man and also the shortest human being ever documented in the Nepali capital Kathmandu.

Dangi was being measured at a CIWEC Clinic in Kathmandu by the Guinness World Records (GWR) officials.

"After taking three different measurements of the body the average height of Dangi was taken which breaks the old records," said Craig Glenday, editor in chief of GWR.

He said that as the height of the body changes during the day time and the average height of Dangi is 54.6 centimeters which is 5.3 cm shorter than Filipino Junrey Balawing.

Balawing, 59.93 cm, had taken over the previous record of a Nepali Khagendra Thapa Magar who was 67.08 cm tall.

"Nepal brings back the record, it has the highest Mountain and the shortest human," Glenday said.

Dangi is the second Nepalese to be crowned as the world's shortest living man in recent years.
