So many games? Which to buy?
Re: So many games? Which to buy?
Out of the ones you listed I would go for Zelda above the others. It kind of looks like they're trying to blend the best of Windwaker with the best of Twilight Princess. Bethesda games hate me. They freeze, they crash, and they have severe graphical glitches on occasion which can hinder the gameplay.

I'm most definitely getting Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword bundle day one. It seems like not a lot of forum members are excited for a new Zelda. I'm fucking jacked I can't wait for November 20th for it to drop!!!!

Re: So many games? Which to buy?
Well I don't care much about online play since I let my gold membership expired about a year ago. I got fed up on Halo Reach by listening to kid/racists/noobs/haters all the time I eventually muted everyone. Then they started hate mailing me. So I talked trash to all sorts of kids and listen to them respond with classy comebacks like, "No U Fag." or "Ur terribel at tis gaem! I pwn u!" Yeah. I'm not scared of some snot nosed kids who mom just bought them their very first 360! Plus I'm in Minnesota, come get me.
I liked MW2, but mostly for the play aesthetic. That and it was $10.
Most games are either clones or clones of themselves. It doesn't really matter what it the killer app is especially when it is a game you genuinely enjoy. Everything derived from something else, such is the evolution of technology. My point was initially to ask whether anyone else had some games they were anticipation and then decide on certain games. I, for example, loathe sports games because they are way past obsolescence but I'm sure someone has to be buying the damn things every year.
It's all open to interpretation.

See Zelda has to be the most repetitive genre and series of games I have ever seen, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to play them.Metal Militia wrote:I'm most definitely getting Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword bundle day one. Oh yes. Reviews can be informative, some games are a buggy mess, some are too short.. etc.noiseredux wrote:yr serious?Pulsar_t wrote:None of these games have been reviewed yet..

Re: So many games? Which to buy?
None of the above. MW3 is gonna be short like every COD game, wait until that one's cheaper. SS is just another Zelda game, not worth $50. ACR, meh. Skyrim? Elder Scrolls = yawnfest. Get Portal 2 or Civilization 5 or Uncharted 3 or Metal Gear Solid HD Collection or Ico/SotC Collection or Kirby Mass Attack.weaponepsilon wrote:Okay so I was pretty sure I knew what I wanted to get with my stack of Gamestop gift cards, but now I'm not sure. There are way too many cool ass games to get this season and I don't know where to start! Modern Warfare 3, Zelda:Skyward Sword, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Skyrim! I'm a freaking kid in a candy store and only able to choose a very small handful and for literally any system! ARGH! You guys looking for anything cool this holiday season?

But heres the deal, I don't play those games and why would I pay more for Metal Gear when I already own all the previous versions? I don't get those compilations because I typically got all those previous releases.BoringSupreez wrote: None of the above. MW3 is gonna be short like every COD game, wait until that one's cheaper. I'll give you taste of what I'm dealing with. I got $150 in Gamestop gift cards and I can buy any game for any system. What would you pick, out of all that is currently available plus whatever drops in the next month?

Re: So many games? Which to buy?
I can't lie, I'm diggin what I'm seeing with Skyward Sword. The motion control looks excellent. I'm also really excited for Super Mario 3DLand on the 3DS, to which early reviews seems very positive. Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS is dropping before Christmas too. I already picked up Uncharted 3 and although I am only half way through it I can't recommend it enough. MW3 will have a ridiculous story line and on top of that will be short, but who is buying MW3 (or Battlefield 3 for that matter) for the single player anyway? Multiplayer in MW3 should be fun. If not you can still get high trade value for it. I'm really interested in Skyrim and would like to check it out too. But if I had $150 I would get Skyward Sword (the bundle), Uncharted 3 and Super Mario 3DLand. Will likely go a little over the 150, especially after tax but I think it might be the way to go till more reviews pop up and we get the scoop on game length, glitches and so on imho....
Currently owned: NES, SNES, N64, NGC, GBA SP, DS, 3DS, Wii, PS2, PS3, XBOX360, SEGA DC.

Huh, no one here likes games.
Anyways, go for Skyrim and Skyward Sword, specially if you can't play MW3 online.
