Hey skate323k137, thanks for putting up this super awesome mod. In the 10 years i've had my stunners, doing this never occurred to me! My guns are super sweet now

I went for a slightly different method using a screw inserted the other way around, and some nuts to hold the switch in the right position, i've posted some snaps in case it would be useful to other modders out there:

I drilled a hole for the screw, and a shallow larger hole over the top, to sink the screw head slightly below the surface:





Then on the other side, I threw on 2 nuts which provide enough height for the switch to sit up on and stay in line with the trigger (the amount of nuts you need to use will depend on their size, in my case, 2 provided the correct height):



Then add the switch, just like on skate323k137's photo the back of the switch will be supported by the plastic casing. In the following photo there is only 1 nut fastening the switch to the screw, later on I added a second one, just as a safety measure to stop the nuts from rolling off if they get loose, I guess instead of that you could even drop some glue over the nut and switch.



At a later point i might even drop a dab of blue paint over the screwhead, just for prettiness' sake

Also, take care when tightening the nuts, you don't wanna tear the thread on the screw, but you also don't wanna have 'em loose enough to start rolling apart when you're mowing down the magician from HotD.

that is pretty sweet, nice work. I'm just happy people are making use of this. if you put a nylon locknut on top of the switch, it would definitely be secure.

I'm going to attempt a playstation 1 gun next, hopefully within a week or two i'll have time to go pick one up.

I'm suprised this thread got so many views, anyone else try this out?

also, if there are any other guns for consoles you would like to see modified, let me know and i'll try to get to it. So far the Saturn Stunner and PSX guncon have been pretty simple.

I am very curious if it is possible to mod a wiimote into a stunner. But thats not really a gun mod.

Fastbilly or skate, if you are serious about a wiimote into stunner mod. I would give you a crappy Chinese wii mote(the dpad doesn't work well and the seller actually refunded it for me) for the shipping. An actual wii light gun and not just a wii mote in something else would be really cool.

Oh man, I forgot all about this mod! I'm definitely going to rip open my spare Stunner with the limp switch and mod it out the next chance I get.

This mod was my first experience with a soldering iron. Truly one for the ages!

I would really like to see this done to the Mad Catz Dream Blaster, and possibly the wireless light guns as well.

Jamisonia- Do you have a Mad Catz Dream Blaster? If so, could you take pictures of the insides for me?

This is how I mounted the arcade switch in my Sega Saturn Light gun. I used some foam double sided stick tape. I used 4 pieces of tape stuck together. This made the arcade switch and light gun trigger line up with one another. The double sided stick tape lost its adhesion. Sitting in the kitchen draw too long. This was ok though. I super glued the switch too the double sided stick tape. I cut the tape to be a little larger than the arcade switch. The double sided stick tape isn't glued or anything to the gun itself. It fits tight enough that it doesn't move. The photo shows how I did this.
