I've asked every employee of my PO and have been told numerous times that video games are not media. That backed with the official website tells me it's not. So I don't do it. I spend more or less on shipping to not say it's media by their definition and feel fine doing so.

I've had packages shipped media to me and on some instances have arrived postage due, so for that reason alone no one should be using media for entertainment items. (respect for their fellow buyer)

Every media package is a net loss for the USPS (this is not researched, but I think a safe assumption if USPS is losing money, it stands to reason they lose more money on heavier packages that bring in less postage). Seeing we as federal taxpayers foot that loss, i'd think we would all want to not see it abused.

I have to think that junk mail (bulk mail) is a money losing operation for USPS.

Under "Rules and Restrictions".

Are video games educational material if I study them?

No.

Yup...

The material sent must be educational media. It can’t contain advertising, video games, computer drives, or digital drives of any kind.

...haven't we already gone through all this before?

I received a whole case of Star Wars Encyclopedia discs, it came in as Medi Mail. I think in this case educational legit because a reference material. Personally I think Media Mail is wrong for even educational purposes, why should certain mail get preferental tax payer paid treatment?

Very good guide!

You can add Neo Geo AES to this list.

They come in at a whopping 1 lb. 12 oz. for a complete game.
