The list looks pretty solid to me

The second game we played was Defender and last year we did Gradius III

That's crazy, so many of these games I'm currently playing or played recently. I'm about halfway through Ys 1&2 on the Duo. Wolf 3d I have on my 90s PC I set up this year. Same with Command & Conquer. Maniac Mansion I played when I got my 1541 Ultimate II. And DoDonPachi has gotten about 50% of my shmup time (split with Touhou 6) for the past year.

Panel de Pon, I never heard of before. Should be neat!
SMB2 I had back in the day, will be nice to revisit it. Don't think I ever beat it back then.
Bomberman I've tried in the past, but never found much fun in it. Probably better with more people. Mednafen does have netplay....
Guardian Heroes and Gunstar Heroes have both been played here, but not seriously. They deserve more attention, so this is good.
THPS2, I saw people play this when the DC was current. It always looked like they were having fun, but I could never replicate the experience. Sega Bass Fishing was much more my style. Though I'm not into skating or fishing.
Soul Caliber, my brother had this one on his DC. I guess I enjoyed it well enough, but we played more DOA2.
Golden Axe Warrior, no experience with this one whatsoever, but I know it's well reviewed.

So that's 5/12 I've spent real time with in the past year, and 10/12 that I've played. That's why I like this site, we have similar tastes. We'll get to that WRPG eventually. Now, I just hope that my Duo's capacitor will keep a charge until February. I'll have to power cycle it once in a while.
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!

@TEKTORO:

Do you have a ps3? Dodonpachi is on the jp psn.

If not, it runs flawlessly on MAME. But you HAVE to play Dodonpachi! Its awesouuum

Oh, and I think Bomberman '94 = Mega Bomberman? I could be wrong on that. If so, then its on the GEN. Not sure if it came out on the turbo

The list is awesome, but where the hell did Soul Calibur come from. I dont even remember seeing the original listed, and Soul Calibur 2 was barely mentioned. :|

Either way

Jan - Golden Axe Warrior - awesome, I really wanted this one. Will probably buy on SMS.

Feb - Soul Calibur 1 - cool I guess. I would've preferred DOA but I assume there's a reason for this choice?

Mar - Y's I - Sorry Dsheinem, but I'm a lot more excited for this one than I was for Baldurs Gate

April - Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 - Sweet. I played my cousins copy of this a lot back in the day. Plus a nice cheap one after the slightly pricier GAW and Ys.

May - Wolfenstein 3D - I have no real thoughts here, but thats more because of the genre than the game.

June - Command & Conquer - Did we decide Ogre Battle was too expensive or not on enough systems? I'm happy about this choice anyway. I'll have to look up which console version is best of N64, Saturn and PS1.

July - Treasure Heroes 2 Pack - Guardian Heroes and Gunstar Heroes - Although I'm sad no one was interested in Shock Troopers (so gonna try and get that on 2013's list!), it couldn't have lost to a better pair of games. I own both of these already.

August -Bomberman 94 - A nice excuse to finally try and beat this game. I've owned it since I was a kid, but the last level just kicks my ass.

Sept - Super Mario Brothers 2/Doki Doki Panic - Another interesting choice. It did get mentioned once, but it certainly wasn't a popular option. What's the reasoning on this one? Either way, I can live with it, I love this game.

October - Maniac Mansion/Crush series - Two awesome choices. Really looking forward to this month.

November - Panel de Pon - Another one I'm looking forward to, I've never played any of this series before. I'll probably pick up either pokemon league or pokemon challenge on N64/GBC.

December - Do Don Pachi - I really want to play this one, but it depends how much I'm making by this point.

Overall, it's really looking to be a really good year. Of all the games, I'm certain I'll join for 10 of the months, a maybe for one (dodonpachi) and probably a no for one (wolfenstein). Pretty sweet.

maybe YOU can answer -- can I somehow get DDP to work on DC? Either with the MAME emulator or via Bleem? I want to play it with my Agetec stick IF possible.

what's wrong with GAW?
