I love gaming related channels on Youtube and follow quite a few, but I have never been a fan of gamester81. I find him very dull.
The store though looks awesome, although there are none around here for me to check out.
Vintage Stock, This Store Looks Like the Coolest Store EVER.

Gamers is an excellent chain! It's really what a vintage game store should be. They carry stuff for every console back to the 2600. Their stuff is priced to make a profit, but I've never seen a price I've scoffed at. Odds and ends like power supplies are usually really cheap.
Never heard of Vintage Stock before. I do go to KS every two months or so, but not where there's a Vintage Stock apparently.

Yeah, unfortunately I've moved to the dark side. Born and raised on the MO side, and is what I still call home, even though I own a house in Olathe. I'm a few blocks from Olathe North high school.Xeogred wrote: Haha, yup. You in the area I guess? I'm over in Olathe myself. I usually prefer the Metcalf store (they always seem to have nicer employee's in my experience), although one of my old friends from high school apparently works at the one on 135th now, really short skinny guy with some tattoo's on his arms and he had like a mohawk thing going on the last I saw him there, hah.
I think I saw your friend working yesterday, unless that description matches more than one VS employee.

There are 2 Vintage Stocks within a few miles of my house, so I go to them occasionally. They're usually a little overpriced and don't have an amazing selection, but sometimes you'll find something good. (I found Ninja Golf for the 7800 there). It really depends on the manager and who is in charge of buying the games. Overall, though, it's a pretty cool place.

I live in Japan which is loaded with awesome retro game shops, but I have to admit I was fairly impressed with that video. My memory of North American game shops (I`m Canadian originally) are pretty sparse and I`ve always thought that the stores there kind of sucked. This video has proven me wrong, that place would stack up reasonably well with some of the shops here.
Have a few posts exploring similar Japanese retro shops here if anyone is interested:

I hate DC. There is nothing but crap, bad drivers, and politicians here.
I'll never forget my visit to Chicago and all of the retro store AWESOMENESS.

I've been to DC and Chicago both, and I agree with you. Chicago is way better, in more categories than just retro gaming.FerretGamer wrote:I hate DC. There is nothing but crap, bad drivers, and politicians here.
