Actually, i've never seen/played the stand up version, but the sit down cab truly was awesome.

My local arcade has the stand-up cab. On the flip side of your comment, I've never seen the sit-down cab.lwcook wrote:YoshiEgg25 wrote:*stand up cab*

Big issue with the PSP version is the draw distance. How do you play it man?Betamax001 wrote:Arcade>Dreamcast>PSP>Everything else.
I like the PSP version because you can more or less pick up and play a round where ever you are at. It's a fun little game. Nice solid version. It too supports custom soundtracks, but it only plays like one track per round, so I edited nice 7-12 minute tracks with a few songs together because I rock and can play the arcade version for a good few minutes.
I'm a huge fan of the old Daytona USA on the Sega Saturn.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Big issue with the PSP version is the draw distance. How do you play it man?Betamax001 wrote:Arcade>Dreamcast>PSP>Everything else.

It's even worse on the original PSPs. The road will literally load right under your car.
I like the Dreamcast version and also am partial to the first one over Crazy Taxi 2. The second one has the nice "Speed Racer" jumping jacks and multi passenger drop offs, but the first one just seems put together better. A driving wheel really adds to the game play, I love the turn on a dime ability of Crazy Taxi!retromangia wrote:Hey guys, I just picked up Crazy Taxi for the Gamecube today, and got to wondering... whats the best version of this game released?
I stayed at a college a few years back for a summer program (Northwestern University in Illinois), and the Recreational Building had some amazing arcade cabinets. I remember the first one I tried being an extremely frustrating fighting game, and getting destroyed in the first round. Looking back, it turns out I was playing an original Street Fighter 2 arcade cabinet. Right next to that cabinet was a full-sized 2-player House of the Dead cab (which I and a friend beat together using just under $3 worth of quarters)! But, the biggest attraction was directly upstairs in the cafe area, where there sat a sit-down Crazy Taxi cabinet. I can't begin to count how many quarters I put into that thing. It was my first experience with the game, and I loved every last second of it. In other news, there was also a Police Trainer cab, but no one really cared about that.Runefaust wrote:Dreamcast was my fav version and I'm also partial to the first installment. I've played the standup cab numerous times but have never seen the sit down cockpit cab in person.
