Do you delete high scores/lap times on second hand carts?

What I love is when I buy a used RPG and see it contains 3 save files that only tally up to about half an hour. Guess someone didn't like that game!

The used copy of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey I bought had a 75 hour save file where the main character was named Lloyd Irving (a character from another RPG series). I'm surprised someone who seemed to like the game that much would sell it.

What's a pain is save files that can't be deleted (I think Final Fantasy games and Secret of Mana are like this), instead they have to be overwritten.

Add me to the landslide of nuke lovers. I might peek at the existing data, but I want a fresh start. I think I've generally removed saves on things I've sold.

Despite already owning it, I once bought a used Ocarina of Time -- save file was barely into the game. Now, granted, it could have been a second/etc. playthrough, but I thought "How does THAT happen?!"

It started up at the First Day, didn't it?

Its my game now, and the save files should reflect that. I'll set all the high scores. :)
Yeah, no dilemma here either. If it can go, it does.

I almost always delete a previous owner's save data. A very rare occasion I'll keep a save file on a cart that isn't mine. Anything like top scores, lap times, that kind of stuff, I always delete though. And memory cards, instantly wiped clean the first second I use it. I don't even care to see what games are on it.

Just momentarily lift or replace the save battery and those files will be gone!

It all depends. If it's a game with multiple save slots, I'll just clear the top slot and leave the rest alone. If there's only one save slot, I'll delete it if it's a game with a standard single-player campaign where you unlock levels and suchlike. If it's an arcade style game like Pac-man with no unlockables, I'll leave the save on there and try to bat the previous owner's high scores.

My Donkey Kong 64 cart has a savegame from the previous owner still on it. It has over 99 hours of playtime logged. I could never play one game that long, it's amazing.
