3DO Game List: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_3DO_games

I thought at first any 3DO game would be rare. Looking over the list there are quite a few. I always though Army Men was first released on the 3DO, but don't see them there.

PC Ports
Some games and Eduware I tried on the PC are ported over to the 3DO. Some of these are exclusive to see on a regular TV thru the 3DO. Maybe a mention of this? Though just for preschoolers the living books series such as Putt Putt and Fatty Bear. Lost Eden doesn't have great gameplay but dinosaurs with clean graphics was a standout of its day.

Some other PC ports maybe unknown by newer gamers.
Lemmings, Another World, Cannon Fodder and Return Fire among others.

Starfighter
This would be my choice, I have this on the PC and PS1. Behind the ship view, a basic but interesting 3d blaster. Gaah, the missile truck is hard to follow. For an early "3d shooter" it wasn't bad, the 3DO version is supposed to be the best version.

wouln't this game be rare for the 3D0?

Pretty much any RPG/Strategy game would be rare for such an obscure system.

I do own it, but disc only.

From my experience on collecting 3DO games here are some of the game that seem rare/vaulable to me.

Snow Job - This game I see regularly for sale for $50 - $70. a sealed copy sold for $120 recently

Luicenne's Quest - I wish I owned this game, it sells from $90-$150

D - A recent copy sold for $120 but I would say $50 is the normal price.

Night Trap - usually around $50

Neurodancer - like most adult 3do games are generally more expensive. A recent copy sold for $100 but I would put the vaul closer to $70.

Endlessly, Love Bites and Immortal Desire - $30-$60

Strahl, Lemmings, Captain Quazar, Star Control II, Star Fighter and Return Fire: Maps of Death sell anywhere from $20-$50

AMERICAN LASER LIGHT GUN - I know its not a game but these sell for $70-$100

Firewall and EYE OF TYPHOON - These are Korean only releases that I really can't guess a price on as I have never seen them for sell.

Just thought of some more:

DinoPark Tycoon- this one I have not seen for sale but have heard one sold for $300

The Yakyuken Special - another hard to find adult game, this one is japan only.

F1 GP - not expensive but a hard to find jp release. I would put its value around $30

I have also heard tales of a black disc version of Killing Time which was mail order only.

There's a funny lawsuit related to the game.

Whatever. There is of course the movie and NES game 'The Last Starfighter' (even though it is a port of Uridium) that came before both of them. Starfighter or Star Fighter is a pretty generic term.

Dino Park Tycoon is the single rarest US game release for the 3DO, but can readily be found for cheap on other platforms and there is little non-collector demand for it on the 3DO. Lucienne's Quest is the second rarest US release- more copies of it were made for the 3do than Dino Park Tycoon but unlike DPT the 3DO was the only platform Lucienne's Quest was released on. Combine that with the fact that it is a well regarded RPG, and one of the best games games for the 3DO according to those who have been fortunate enough to acquire a copy (which I can verify, it is indeed a great game!). Between RPG fans and 3DO collectors the demand for Lucienne's Quest is probably greater than any demand for DPT.

As for overall rarest 3DO games, that honor would almost certainly belong to the games released for the system in Korea only by LG late in the system's life. Info on some can be found here:

http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/korea/ ... any-lg.htm

http://www.gotwalls.com/korean_3do/

http://fz1-3do.blog.co.uk/2009/03/01/ar ... n-5673527/

I've seen copies of Lucienne's Quest on Ebay every now and then (an open but mint copy went for over $400 a few months back), and there was also recently someone selling a copy of Dino Park Tycoon for an outrageously high BIN of many hundreds of dollars. I have never seen ANY of the Korean only LG games on Ebay, though.

Going by the listings here:

http://www.rarityguide.com/3do_view.php

the games Lost Eden, Neurodancer: Journey Into the Neuronet!, Mind Teazzer, Olympic Soccer (a late release), and any of the 3 different Woody Woodpecker video-CD releases seem to be quite rare. Ditto for the games Mathemagic and Slope Stlye: An Interactive Learning Cube. And though it was said above, the adult games for the 3DO are also uneasy to find.

Running this page:

http://www.batracien.fr/collection/3do.php

through Google translate also yields good information about some of the more rare 3do games as well.

Something else to consider would be games and hardware for the ill-fated M2 system that was to be the successor to the 3DO, as actual M2 units do tend to show up for sale online every now and then- Gamesnipe.com has had more than a few listings for them, and one can be seen right now for sale here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-M2-3D ... 0747065610

M2 software also tends to show up every now and then as well, though it should be recognized as being quite scarce in terms of availability.

Hope this all helps!

EDIT:

I found a screenshot of my My Ebay Watchlist from several months back (Tip: always take screenshots of your watchlist before clearing it :D ) and it includes the ending acutions of several 3DO games I was watching from a seller named zhadnost, who was selling his entire collection of 3DO games. I remember that all the games were in pristine condition complete with longboxes and all but had been opened and played. The number of bids and auction end prices I have are:

CIB Virtuoso: 14 bids, $66.00
CIB Robinson's Requiem (an RPG): 21 bids, $102.50
CIB Lucienne's Quest: 26 bids, $377.00
CIB Strahl: 10 bids, $86.00
CIB Wing Commander III: 18 bids, $34.00
CIB Phoenix 3: 26 bids, $80.00

The seller had a ton of other games, maybe contacting him (or her?) would yield more information.

Also, the CIB copy of Dino Park Tycoon I mentioned above was listed with a BIN of $479.99 and did not sell at that price- which might provide an upper limit for a price on that particular title.

I'm not going to lie, those korean games look pretty cool!

VGPC recently updated 3DO prices with dino park right at the top at $640...I had no idea there so much of a demand for the 3DO!

A buddy of mine gave me a a complete copy of Lucienne's Quest around 2003 or so. At the time he was extremely happy to find it and knew even then it was rare. He sold off his 3DO collection except for that game and got stationed in Germany with the military. Knowing that military contracted movers tend to break/lose things he gave it to me to "hold" until he got back. Seven years later he moves back to the States and I reminded him I was still holding his game. His reply? "Just keep it, I know you are into collecting games". Fricken' sweeeeeeeeeet!
