We’re proud to announce that Silent Hill HD Collection will offer an option for original voices in Silent Hill 2. This means fans and newcomers alike can experience the classic horror tale remastered with modern voice performances; as well as the original recordings from 2001. Producer Devin Shatsky and I have been striving to make this a reality for some time, and it’s exciting to have created the definitive SH2 experience. We would like to thank all of the original voice cast as well as Jeremy Blaustein, who were all instrumental in making this happen. Unfortunately, due to factors both technical and logistical, Silent Hill 3 will be presented with new voices only. Konami and Hijinx are working hard to make Silent Hill HD Collection a valued piece of Silent Hill history, and hope fans new and old look forward to its release in January.

All right! Silent Hill 2 keeps the old voice option!

Have we even heard the new SH3 voices at all yet?

The comments section there hinted that the problems with SH3's old voices pretty much revolve around the fact that they can't find the original actress who played Heather to sign a release or something.

I'm very curious about 3's new voices actually. The only character voices I liked were Heather's and Douglas'. I really hated the other character voice overs.

I welcome a change for Silent Hill 3... as long as it's a good change...

Man that image only just reinforces how damn good Silent Hill 3 looked. In HD that game is going to look incredible, especially if Konami opts to do the usual texture touch-ups and whatnot that most of these collections seem to get. The PC version already looks better than Silent Hill Homecoming!

I'm on the fence with this. I didn't care much for SH 3, the voice acting thing kind of bothers me, and the boxart is horrid. They should have just done what the ICO/SOTC collection did with the boxart, that was such a great idea. The only reason I'm even considering buying is for SH 2 in HD.

I'm assuming laziness, Konami has yet to give any reasons. 4 and Origins weren't received very well (don't think they sold well either) so they probably just said screw it. The inclusion of 4 would have made me a bit more inclined to buy though.

Did you guys know that Douglas Cartland's voice actor died? That sucks.

The only reason I'm even considering buying is for SH 2 in HD.

Well, this is still cheaper than buying a PC version in collectible condition.

Oh, and this collection is ten dollars cheaper on amazon. For some reason Gamestop thinks it should be priced at fifty dollars.

Including 4 would've been awesome but they'd probably have to track down another group of people to sign away a release for the reuse of their voice.

I still hate Origins. It's not that great of a game, imo. An HD touch-up wouldn't help it.

A Shattered Memories graphically revamped with Move-support would be awesome. I'd actually consider buying a Move.

edit: And as far as why they didn't include other games... I don't know. Maybe brunoafh is right. Laziness. And maybe time constraints as well. They need to get this game out soon to continue to build up the Silent Hill 'hype'. This comes out next month and then the month after Book of Memories (Vita) is supposed to be released.. and then you have Downpour coming out the month after Book of Memories. That's a lot of Silent Hill for the beginning of the year.

And I don't really like the box-art either, brunoafh. A nice, bright box really, really does not fit well with the overall content of the package.

This game got delayed again. It now comes out in March.
