I'm really surprised how well-made those props were.

If you're watching when the cart is cracked open you can see that it has a normal short board inside. Those NES competition games had boards that filled the cart all the way up and those switches up in the notched area.
That episode was definitely great and a return to form after a period of mostly lackluster AVGN clips. James isn't a moron and wouldn't destroy something that valuable even if it is crap but watching the fanboys take the bait was hilarous.

The ones for competition were just thrown together in a hurry since they were just for a quick use. Chop a hole in it for switch access and slap a quickie label on there.General_Norris wrote:I'm really surprised how well-made those props were.

Oh yes, I know that. What I find impressive is that he cared enough to copy those ugly as fuck carts.Hobie-wan wrote:The ones for competition were just thrown together in a hurry since they were just for a quick use. So which one was his and which was the NES Punk's?
Re: Angry Video Game Nerd smashs NWC Gold cart with Hammer
Both games belonged to Pat and both the destroyed ones were props. The gold cart was just a LoZ cart with the label removed and the NWC triangle glued on I believe.

As everybody said, it was just a prop. neither Pat nor James have the kind of money to smash one of those.

Anyone who believed that James Rolfe was genuinely destroying something worth over $10,000 is simply a gullible idiot!Hobie-wan wrote:If you're watching when the cart is cracked open you can see that it has a normal short board inside. That was definitely my favorite AVGN ever! It was genuinely funny without resorting to the dick and fart jokes that are normally there.
