Gaming related ringtones
Re: Gaming related ringtones
When I was at PAX East I heard the damn MGS ringtone at least once an hour. This tripled in lines.

Re: Gaming related ringtones
My default ringtone is the theme to Super Mario Bros. which brings a smile to everyone's face when they hear my phone ring.
A Japanese girl I work with heard my phone and said, "
hee hee, you're a geek." I would have gotten upset, but she looked so damn cute when she said it.
I also assign various video game related tones for other purposes. The Konami intro music was my text notification (before I turned off all my text messaging). Dr Robotnick's music plays whenever my boss calls.

I used Pokemon noises briefly but it attracted way too much attention when my phone went off.

I remember when an old roommate got a Samsung phone and one of the built in ringtones sounded like Castlevania music.

Trust me when I say that would get very annoying very quickly. The Last Horseman wrote:I've been trying to get the Legend of Zelda treasure chest sound for a text tone, but haven't found one yet. I do have the Clocktown clock from Majora's Mask though.

I use the Minibosses Catlevania theme as my ringtone. I used to have the sound of Mario growing as my notification ringtone, now it's the "SEGA" from the beginning of Genesis games.

Nope. I only leave the ringer on if my phone is on the charger or if I'm not texting. After the first text I usually turn off my ringer.Lodestar wrote:Trust me when I say that would get very annoying very quickly. The Last Horseman wrote:I've been trying to get the Legend of Zelda treasure chest sound for a text tone, but haven't found one yet. I got the Kirby's Adventure theme as my ringtone and the Legend of Zelda "you discovered a secret" noise as my text message alert.

Mine's a loop of the first 14 notes in the overworld theme from Crystalis. Before that it was Protoman's Whistle (it was too high pitched over my phone's speaker).
