Really? Man I'm behind on the news.

Edit:

Would you object to my mentioning of Planet Harriers?

Nope, it is probably Capcom's best beat-em-up ever, and it never saw a home port. :(

I dunno man, have you played Battle Circuit? That one gets my vote and should run on MAME.

Also maybe check out Red Earth. I haven't played it myself but it seems interesting.

I just came back to this thread to mention Battle Circuit; looks like brun beat me to it.

If you like Capcom beat 'em ups, dsh, you should try out Battle Circuit. Not only was this never ported to home consoles, the arcade game never came to the states. MAME is the only reasonable way to play this game without traveling to Japan. Since it's a CPS-2 game, emulation should be near-perfect.

It's also worth mentioning that the cab was brought over to Europe, so you can even play it in English if you wish to do so.

You should also check out some of the Toaplan shmups that never got ports dsheinem. Dogyuun and Tatsujin Oh are some of their best games and just excellent shmups period. V Five is also great but it got a port so it doesn't really meet your criteria. I thought it might be worth mentioning anyway though since the Genesis port is so inferior that it's barely even the same game.

Was Armed Police Batrider ever ported to home consoles? I played that one without even knowing which stuff on the screen is meant to kill me and which one is supposed to be a power up or additional score. I just mashed the buttons like a madman.
