I usually only add people on Facebook when I've met them somewhere else before.

Several weeks ago I disabled my Facebook. I am considering a full deletion.

I originally used facebook to get in contact with some old friends and family. I've since found lots of people I knew in high school or college sending me friend requests. I have one or two people on there too that I haven't met in person but met on twitter or met through their connection to some old friends of mine on facebook.

I also have less than a handful of work friends on facebook. People I trust as I don't really like the idea of co-workers knowing too much about me. Though, I don't really put anything personal or important on there. Just some pics that basically show what I look like, what school I went to, my email, and random posts about anything in the news or entertainment that interest me. That's pretty much all I have on there. I have about 79 friends on there total and that's where it's going to say as I don't use it much anymore. I'm getting kind of bored with the social media thing. I have a Twitter that I only rarely log in to and that's only to chat a bit with pro wrestling fans when Monday Raw or Smackdown is on

I left mine undeleted just in case (you never know what life can throw at you).
