it just doesnt make sense

On those other consoles, you're fighting a lot of other budget and indie titles just to get noticed--let alone get noticed over the big-budget mainstream titles. On a retro console, you've got virtually no competition and your game drums up excitement for even existing.

Bungie used a similar strategy in making all of their early games for Macintosh, even though the mainstream computer gaming audience was all on PC. Had they tried to get their start on PC, it is likely that their early games Pathways Into Darkness and Marathon (both major hits on Macintosh) would have gone completely unnoticed amongst the many similar RPG and FPS games.

No GD-ROMs needed. We already know how to make an unmodified Dreamcast boot games from a normal CD-ROM.

That user base might still be bigger than you think...

Quick Note: Most of the post-mortem Dreamcast games are also available on other platforms.

Like Neo Geo, where the userbase is even more niche and the games cost several times as much!

I would love to do this also, but wasn't the MVS Fast Striker about $500 or $600. I don't know if I can justify spending that much on one game.
