That's a really good example of dot crawl. Nice before & after showing how s-video cleans it up. Shame they're dropping s-video on newer tvs.

I would have gotten an S-Video cable for my Super Nintendo ages ago, but my very first console ever was an SNES Mini, so I refuse to replace it for the bigger model that is compatible with RGB.

Ditto - I still kick myself for getting an in-box Mini only to have to use composite. I'm going to have to eventually get an original one because the difference is huge.

You guys know you can add S-video to the mini, right? Of course, it requires soldering.

Yeah, but the mod looks too complicated for me to take on by myself.

I can appreciate that. Though, as far as console mods go, it's actually VERY simple. There's a surface mounted chip that is the video encoder. Two pins are chroma and luma (s-video) out. All you have to do is solder a wire to each pin of the encoder, add a cap and resistor to each, and solder the other end to the multi AV out.

I've actually thought about making solderless kits for this, the only problem is the surface mounted video encoder. I think there's solderless clips out there, but they're not cheap. At best, you would still have to solder two wires. But in that case, it would be as easy as the Saturn mod chip install.
