I think there are some really great games on the N64 but overall I find it very blah.
Need my Ocarina of Time, Perfect Dark, and Goldeneye though!
The n64 is not a bad system at all.

It's not a bad system...but it's not a great one either. Some of its library are among the greatest ever made, but too much crap clogs up the library.
Also, its library is kind of limited. It shines with FPS and collect-a-thons, but not much else.

It literally makes me barf (motion sickness) so I have to vote thumbs down.

I'm neither a Final Fantasy fanboy (despite my avatar - I didn't like VII or VIII and never played anything past IX), nor do I hate the N64, but I do like the Super Nintendo better. Don't get me wrong, I've probably spent more hours on Mario Kart 64, GoldenEye, and Perfect Dark than on the entire SNES combined, but it still has my votes for best system. However, I haven't ever played any wrestling games on the N64 (last wrestling game I remember enjoying was Royal Rumble on the Genesis), but I highly doubt that would change my mind much.BoringSupreez wrote:I've seen massive Final Fantasy fanboys do it, and other people heavily invested in the PS1, but not many others.GSZX1337 wrote:I'm not sure why anyone would label the N64 as a bad system.
Edited Disclaimer: I had an N64 as a kid, not a PS1. I didn't a PS1 until 2000, while I got my N64 for my birthday, May 1997.

the n64 was the most anticipated system for me, i couldnt wait for the thing to be released and i had a psx at that time. When i did get my hands on it i loved the thing because it just had smoother graphics and better fps than the psx. Both were good, but i enjoyed the sheer sized and scaled of the game on the n64

I got a Nintendo 64 for my 8th birthday in 1998. I loved that system so much. The graphics were a spectacular step up from my Sega Genesis, and the first party and rareware games were a blast. I got Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario 64 first. On my 9th birthday I got 007 Goldeneye and my Dad and I stayed up till 1 AM playing deathmatch.
Some N64 games haven't aged very well but it's still a good system. Probably my favorite of the Playstation/Sega Saturn/N64 generation.

This is a pretty fair assessment. There are some all-time-greatest classics on the N64 (Mario 64, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64, and more), but there are also some of the worst games ever (Superman 64). The whole library is small compared to other systems, but it still manages to have some real good hidden gems.dedalusdedalus wrote:It's not a bad system...but it's not a great one either. The n64 has good racing games too.dedalusdedalus wrote:It's not a bad system...but it's not a great one either. Some of its library are among the greatest ever made, but too much crap clogs up the library.

I like puzzle games and it seems like 4 player ones are hard to find, but the n64 has Tetris 64, a 4 player version of Bust-a-Move '99, Dr. Mario 64, and Puyo Puyo 4. There are other, probably better, versions of Dr. Mario 64 and Puyo Puyo 4, but still, they are available on the N64.

Of the joystick did not wear out so fast and badly I would play mine more often.
Really need a Superpad or a Hori mini, but they are hard to find at a nice price.
