i'll be picking one up now. I like the titles lined up to be released. Paper Mario, Mario 64 3d, AND MGS3 3D has piqued my interest.

I wonder if this will have any effect on the price for the DSi & DSi XL? Personally, I'm waiting for the 3DS XL.

Well this causes me to reasses things. I was planning on picking up a DS lite or DSi around the holiday season as I have barely played any DS but with the price drop I might reconsider. If only the 3DS was region free Nintendo would definitely get a sale out of me.

No amount of price drops will make me buy one of these. The 3D hurts my eyes and games in 2D mode don't look quite right.

I kinda feel bad for the people who bought one at the full price but at the same time I don't; a price drop was bound to happen.

You're still better off buying a Virtual Boy. I think it still has a stronger library over the 3DS at this point.

It's not enough to get me to buy one. I'll wait for a hardware revision or two. There are plenty of GBA/DS games to feed my DS Lite in the meantime.

Plus it's $170 not spent buying a Vita

I'm amazed by the huge drop, but even though I want one, (I always did, the price held me back) I now have the same concern as most other people.

When is the inevitable new version coming out?

Tough call. :?

Now I can say I would get a 3ds if I had $170, instead of $250. Maybe after Christmas if they are easy enough to find.

out of curiosity, where there physical games released for the DSi that weren't compatible with a standard DS? I sort of had trouble keeping up with all the hardware updates.

I still say the problem comes back to the OP's original post: no games that are system sellers.

Throw in an extra battery or 2 and you might have had a sale with me.

So waiting for the 3DSlite and hopefully increased battery life.
