I guess maybe I fried it? I don't know. I don't have any way to check the current on the drive and, to be honest, it's less frustrating for me to just buy a pre-modded Saturn.
Did you maybe not get the ribbon cable all the way in, or in the right direction?
I'll try again, but I'm pretty sure I tried triple checked that.

Re: Sega Saturn Discs Won't Spin

Post by IvoSlash »

Hi all!
Got myself today a model 1 Saturn..
Tried some Dragon Ball and Sonic Jam and all was ok...
I was going to test SFA2 and Tunnel B1 and the discs wont spin!
I hear some CD scratching inside the console, when it access from the CD.
Some games make that noise too, but those games are correctly booted.
But the strangest thing is that Dragon Ball Z , Sonic or Daytona don't make any noise...
Some games the console boots well and keeps quiet... (like DBZ), others will make a scratching noise but boot (like AMOK) and others won't boot and spin at all, like the CD was stuck somewhere!!!
I'm afraid of lowering the tray because I can dis-calibrate the laser from the correct position and then none of the discs boot!
Does anyone have an answer for this? Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance!
