Yeah, Bit.Trip Complete is one of my most anticipated releases this year. Physical copies all the way!

Sounds great, although I don't know which version to buy.

Are those the only differences? If so, the Wii version is going to be my pick.Opa Opa wrote:From what I can gather...BoringSupreez wrote:Sounds great, although I don't know which version to buy.

I haven't payed attention to the Wii shop channel since Megaman 10 came out. I know nothing about the bit trip series. Someone sell me on what they are and why I should pay attention. thanks.

Basically they have a theme of setting classic game mechanics to music. For example, in BIT.TRIP BEAT you have a pong paddle, and various pong balls fly at you in sync to the music. Each time you hit one it makes a sound that fits into the music mix. If you are doing well by not missing any balls that are thrown your way, then the music gets added layers and sounds more dramatic.Satoshi_Matrix wrote:I haven't payed attention to the Wii shop channel since Megaman 10 came out. In BIT.TRIP RUNNER you are constantly running from left to right without stopping. Various obstacles come by that you have to jump, slide under, or attack. Each move you make generates a noise that fits in sync with the music at the time you need to jump, slide, or attack. Again, the music gets more intense the better you get at making your jumps and collecting items. The music helps you figure out exactly when you need to execute each moves and this aids in memorization of the level, but the timing needs to be extremely precise.
All of the games actually require an immense amount of precision timing, which is why the series is notorious for its difficulty. It feels a bit like playing music, but with a platformer or pong game as your instrument. This makes it very fun and the difficulty becomse tolerable because you really get into the rhythm of it with how the game is designed. Each game comes with a wonderful chip tune soundtrack. They are pretty brilliant games. It's retro with a musical twist.
