There's another cyberpunk game that got released on Steam recently that is aping Deus Ex ideas with considerable aplomb. It's called E.Y.E. Cybermancy. Reviews are just starting to come in now, and general consensus is that the game is very weird, but probably the kind of weird you want to take part of.

This sounds like the kind of game that NEEDS a demo and is lacking one.

Yep.

I dropped $17 on it as an impulse purchase after reading the description and I regret it.

Not a good game. Very ambitious, technically impressive what they've done with the engine...but it's a buggy mess and not really fun.

EYE plays like a "neat" mod and should be priced as such, free.

Please refrain from piracy talk on a brand new game that is obviously still available on the market. If you do not recommend the game and there is no demo for others to make their own decision, please only offer your own opinion of the game and urge others to seek out other opinions before deciding to purchase or not.

Just read some more and watched the trailers on Steam. After watching the game play trailer it looks like this might drop the ball, it doesn't look all too entertaining. The cutscenes with the comic book style looks awesome, but the core gameplay itself, did not look all too amazing.

According to steam there is no multi-player either (which is a good thing, they can focus on the single player, instead of making a multi-player game no one will play).

It is however a fairly cheap title, with its release price set at $30 (preorder now for $27)

Yeah, it seems like they're focusing more on Doom-style action. While I enjoy a good game of Doom and Serious Sam I think it's a waste of what appears to be a well crafted world. It should have a demo though (according to the devs) so I'll give that a try.

Demo's out, gave it a bit of a whirl. The game is like a sci-fi Serious Sam. You have two weapons with up to 5 fire modes (with primary and secondary fire each). You start off with one fire mode for each gun and can unlock more. You gain experience points by killing dudes and finding pickups in the wild. Once you gain enough you get an upgrade point to get fire modes, boost the power of your guns, or boost passive things (like health or radar). Shields regenerate but are Doom-style; they mitigate damage, not block it. Health does not regenerate. The game aesthetic is gorgeous, and there's a ton of explosive stuff you can use to blow up enemies or get into secret areas.

Early reviews state that the average length of the game is 4 hours.

I dunno why but I'm with Mr. Popo on the setting looking amazing, but being kind of out of place for such a game. I'd rather just take the usual dungeons, spaceship corridors, or something else instead for a shooter fest, not some awesome looking cyberpunk setting that (I'm guessing) has no real interactivity. Just kind of awkward to me. Blame Deus Ex perhaps, lol.

Game feels rather bland. Singularity, which is the closest fps that I could think of, was far superior.
