Bumping this back up because I'm curious to hear what you guys have to say about battery life on this thing...
As it turns out, I do think my old battery (that eventually worked again after two days of charging), is a bit burnt out or something. After about 10-15 minutes of playing without it being plugged in it'll soft shut off or whatever. So I guess it was a good thing that I ordered that other battery, but I've noticed that when I play with that one in, it still does the same thing after about maybe ~1 hour of not being plugged in. I do have the brightness set at max, but still... this doesn't seem right at all.
This isn't some weird sleep mode or anything is it? I DID turn that off in the main menu, but maybe I'm still missing something. The screen flashes gray with the battery symbol in the top corner and shuts off.
I mean, luckily I got my system updated and can play games again and it's fine with the AV cable plugged in, but yeah.

Thing is though, if your battery is around 3~5 years old, it does loose some of the charge capacity so you can't play as long and it does get weaker over time (depending on how many times you've charged it etc).Xeogred wrote:Bumping this back up because I'm curious to hear what you guys have to say about battery life on this thing...

It'd be good to have an extra one anyways while you can get 1st party ones cheap now.

Yeah, the battery I bought on eBay was unused supposedly but perhaps it was sitting around for quite awhile and is just kind of old or something. Guess I'll look into another replacement someday.
But cheap 1st party batteries? Like I said earlier in the thread, my friend up at Best Buy said they sell for like $45, yikes.

$45 might not be "cheap" but if you want a 1st party battery, later might cost you more as the supplies dwindle away.Xeogred wrote:Yeah, the battery I bought on eBay was unused supposedly but perhaps it was sitting around for quite awhile and is just kind of old or something.
