so VF4 is good then? I had no idea. I've never looked into it actually. Guess I should pick it up, eh? (Spoiler: the copy that I found at a yard sale went directly into the mystery box that Ultrah just bought from me
)

Ps3 collection. I had them both at one point though.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
Anyway, I'm not a huge survival horror fan no. I scoured a few gems list and what have you. I also consider Shadow Hearts trilogy? But they can be expensive(relatively.) So I guess my being done with PS2 just means...right now. Keep the suggestions coming though.

Depends on who you ask and if you're into 3D fighters. A lot of people go absolutely crazy for this game and call it the greatest fighting game of all time. I've read about a lot of "pros" that play this game competitively and claim that it takes over a year to fully "master" your character.noiseredux wrote:so VF4 is good then?
I never got that into it, but the depth of your actions and the balance of the roster is nothing short of remarkable. I'm not really into 3D fighters though so I'm not that crazy about it.

Fact: The world needs more Virtua Fighter.
Re: Am I missing anything in my PS2 collection?
While I was familiar with the series from its first release in arcades, the original VF4 release is actually what got me into the series, and Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution easily stands as my most played PS2 fighting game, way more than Soul Calibur 2, Bloody Roar 4, MVC2, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, KOFXI, or any other fighter I own. Once you get the hang of VF, it's an absolute blast to play, and there is tons of replayability.brunoafh wrote:Depends on who you ask and if you're into 3D fighters. Did you not dig R-Type Final? I thought it was pretty cool, heh.brunoafh wrote:Gradius V and Virta Fighter 4 Evolution are pretty close to musts (if you're into shmups and fighters), but the rest hardly are.
Anyways if you want a good racing game for the PS2, Kinetica was a blast. Had tons of fun with that one.

I really like R-Type Final, but I don't think it has the mass apeal of Gradius V. You have to know what you are getting into to enjoy the constant death and slow progression of R-Type.Xeogred wrote:Did you not dig R-Type Final? It has so many great qualities though. The ship selection blew me away, even if a chunk of them are totally useless.
If a random person asked me for a ps2 shmup, I would reccommend Gradius V. Then, I would reccommend Castle Shikigami 2, as it is an easy to grasp, fun but simple to score, and really cheap bullet hell that is totally worth the $3-$4 that it goes for.
After that, R-Type would probably be next (not counting importing of course)
Which reminds me, get Shikigami 2 if it isn't in there!
