I played 3rd Strike on the cab for the first time yesterday. Pretty awesome stuff.

Looking forward to this release as well.

Apparently it will be running Version A of the arcade code... I assume this is the original revision. Seth Killian said that there are unblockable setups in this version and that made it more interesting. There's also all sorts of filters and even a mode to simulate the arcade cab (including scanlines and virtual screen curvature)

Just a little more info about this game.

They are 2 versions of 3rd Strike for the CPS3 board the Original Version and the Revision A Version. The only difference between this versions is just that some bugs would freeze the arcade in the middle of a fight, this bugs were fix that's all.

By "Arcade Perfect" it means that the game is a perfect port from it's Revision A counterpart, there is no loss of frames at all! :D

A lot of people may not care about this but from my point of view those "Filters" make the game look horrible! Pixel Art is the best! They did include a "Scanlines Toggle" but from a technical side they don't do justice to the original game.

None the less for $15 bucks is still a gem, any Street Fighter fan should get this game.

I just wish that New Generation and Double Impact were part of the package. Those games are still incredible in their own right and each has a few things that were left out in the shift to third strike.

But I won't complain - like the guy above me just said, fifteen bucks for an online ready SFIII Third Strike is a bargain.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I disagree. Going back and playing them, they really do feel as different from 3rd Strike as Street Fighter II Turbo felt from Super Street Fighter II Turbo.

For one, the balance is completely different - by the time 3rd Strike rolled around, a lot of the emphasis was removed from the New Generation characters and put back onto the SSFT2 cast that was added to pacify a fanbase that wanted something a little more familiar. Sean in New Generation is a beast. In Third Strike he feels crazy weak.

I also was never a fan of the 'choose your own adventure' quality of Third Strike, though I understand it was necessary to keep the battle count down for arcade play.

Beyond that, the aesthetics of the earlier iterations was quite different, like how the Gil battle changed as the series went on. Or the 'opponent mocking' bits between rounds - those were a real shame to lose in the transition from Double Impact to Third Strike.

Go back some time and try to play New Generation - you'll be surprised at how much of a different game it seems to be after 10 years of playing 3rd Strike.
