So rather than leveling the playing field, just toss the game out?
Also, it seems people have the wrong idea about these "cheating" devices. Seriously, wouldn't it stand to reason that if a game could be made easier using one, it could also be made harder, if one chose to?
Take Mike Tyson's Punch-Out for example. There's a(unofficial) code that allows one to eliminate TKO's. That means if you don't score a KO, you're going until a decision is made. I used a code to stop the timer, so it basically becomes do or die in the 1st round. I must have had to knock Bald Bull down 20 times before I finally got a KO. Even with the timer counting down, removing TKO's just puts a whole new spin on the game. That's what Game Genie/Shark, Action Replay, etc. is really about. Sure, most of the time it's make the game a cakewalk, but finding a gem of a code, like that one for MTPO, is what makes it worth it.

I've thrown out one or two sports titles but that's it.

There's some really cool codes for n64 games. Like codes to let you access Bottles' Revenge for banjo-tooie.MidnightRider wrote:So rather than leveling the playing field, just toss the game out?

I don't recall willingly throwing away ANY games. But I can see myself chucking NCAA, Madden, Fast Food cheapies ala Big Bumpin' and the like. Sort of reminds me of tossing pennies into the waste paper basket when I was a kid. Who saves pennies?? Truth be told, I could've used those pennies.

Re: Have you ever thrown out a game?
I didn't throw away a game, but there was a point where I needed some money, and stupidly traded in a lot of my ps2 rpgs into gamestop. Digital Devil Saga was one of the games.
Well, the Large box and soundtrack sat in my room for almost a year, and I hadn't felt a want to play games, so I just decided to throw out the box and cd.
Of course, I now have every SMT game on the ps2, including DDS 1&2, and the only thing I am missing is the large box and soundtrack that I threw out.
Oh yeah, I traded in my black label Xenogears to gamestop years ago too, got like $3 for it.

Re: Have you ever thrown out a game?
An N64 and Saturn in the garbage shed behind my apartment building.
I had to throw out a bunch of stuff when I moved back to the US,
these are the only things game-related.
There was simply no room for them...sorry. I posted this on racketboy
for someone to take free (just pay shipping from Japan).
I think someone rescued the N64 but the Saturn met its maker.
