I bought some PS1 games to use with an emulator on my PC, and Persona 4 for when I replace my broken PS2.

I bought some PSP games before I had a PSP...but i knew I was getting one and it was like a week before hand so not really.

I just bought Grand Turismo and Tekken 3 for PS1, good news is I am getting a Ps2 to pay them on soon. I also have probably almost 20 PS2 games that I'll finally be able to play again when I get it.

I'm tempted to do that with 3DS games. Or at least games that have short print runs and I'm interested in.

I have about 10 PS3 games but no PS3 console to play them on yet.

I'm hoping to have one by the end of summer though.

I've never done it but if I ever stumble at a good deal on some retro games for a console I don't have yet, I will probably buy them without hesitating much. Mostly because finding anything retro locally is a total nightmare.

I bought Gridrunner for the Vic20 because I found it in the wild and it had Jeff Minter and Llamasoft written on the label.

Other than that I generally get the system first. If I saw something rare for a few quid though I would go for and get the console later

I've never done it, but I've thought about it...really tempted to buy Wii games some times. I know I'm going to get a Wii someday, I've just been waiting for the price to drop a bit more...
