But yea thats a pretty sweet NES you got there, I'm shocked that you tried it out on a top loader though, I'd be sweatin beads if I did something like that to my top loader!

Thanks a lot! I built a rgb nes first and tried every possible trick I could on that machine. I got it looking pretty decent but still the jailbars would never completely go away. Also thanks to doing loads of other mods I'm now quite good with difficult modding. It also helps that I now use all the proper tools (had to order some tools from the states). I've successfully done this mod to 5 machines with no issues (lots of clients paying me). I'm just waiting on more parts to finish these av famicoms up. I've been doing these mods for so long and so many times I can pretty much do the entire thing without even breaking a sweat. I've built a supergun, two sega megadrive s-video circuits, a bunch of pad hacks, installed lockout chip and frequency switches in my snes and a region switch in my megadrive, region modded a genesis 2, built repro nes carts using eproms a friend burned for me and mailed to me, built 4-5 different types of rgb amps, wired up my snes mini with rgb and s-video, clean composite modded my nes 2, built an ac adapter for my super scope. So I have a lot of experience under my belt.

What the hell is "le grill"?!?!?

But I must say it's pretty spiff. My TV i currently play NES doesn't have S video inputs though. It only does RF, but I have a VCR that it is hooked up through so I at least get AV.

yeah av converted to rf is still rf.

I know a guy who refurbrished a new astro city. He put in a brand new big screen rgb crt screen into that thing. Honestly it didn't look that much higher quality to me than the s-video on my big crt tv. I have heard though that rgb makes a huge difference on hd flat screen tvs.

its amazing how good you can get the old consoles to work.

My only real experience is with the megadrive (genesis), overclocked, jap/eng switch, 50/60 hz and the composite out/stereo mods.

Transformed the thing. If only they had done this when they were new all consoles would have sold better and it would have been an easier way to get one up on the other consoles.

That last video of castlevania really highlights the graphical and especially sound improvements that are available.

The audio sounds so much better. It's actually in stereo now instead of a dual-mono setup. Though I must admit some of it sounds weird in stereo like how it seems to add the drums to the left channel only. Especially noticeable in the TMNT soundtrack where the drums and bass were panned hard left and the melody was panned hard right, not sure if I liked that, kind of a weird mix. Still very cool though!
