Stretch Panic is definitely one for me. I don't love the game, but it is damn entertaining.

Vapor Trail for the Genny is another one that I play more often then I lot of better shmups. I really love its style, the music, the few voice clips, the roll mechanic. I dunno how much love it gets compared to the amazing shooters on that system, but I really enjoy it. Plus, its got 2p co-op =)

Alpha Mission 2 for the Neo Geo CD, used it to test the NGCD to make sure it still worked so I could sell it, game was so damn good I decided to keep it

Amorphous+ flash game. As far as retro games go, I don't think there are very many games I'm obsessed with even after I beat them. Most of the other games I play constantly I know exactly why I play them over and over again (like SMB or old school Gradius-like shmups).

Game Dev Story...I don't know why but something about the quirkiness of the game making it interesting and just watching those numbers go up whenever you release a game.

Mass Effect.

Ever since I finished the 1st game, I became obsessed with creating different Shepards, all with different choices. I never went the all paragon or all renegade route. Each of my Shepards has his own personality and attitude that defines his choices and love interest. When ME2 came out it nearly doubled the Shepards I've created. I have 7 complete game saves ready for 3, and will probably play through all three games in a row at least a few times once it comes out.

I absolutely love the Ghosts 'n Goblins series, but I wouldn't give a single one of the games higher than a 3 out of 5 (not counting spinoffs). I really don't know what attracts me to these games, I suspect it must be something visual.

Agree. That's another series of games that I want to own yet I don't think they are that great. I always think I can do better in them yet I get owned every single time.
