I can reflow the GPU for you for 30.00+ shipping. I would only charge you if the console gets repaired. I have a IR bottom heater, SMD rework station, I use thermocouples and kester 951 for reflowing. (If you are familiar with PS3 reflowing, I also remove the heat spreader from the GPU)

I buy 2-3 Xbox's a week off ebay which I sometimes reflow, but I mostly reball.
I usually stay away from the PS3's on ebay because of their price and the combination of DIY fixers in the PS3 community. There are lots of heros out there that take heat guns to PS3's. This uncontrolled VERY high heat can easily cause bridges under the GPU which only leaves reballing or GPU replacement the only option. (allot of people do the CPU as well, which basically can leave 2 major BGA components ruined)

I'm tempted, can anyone somewhat reputable on this forum vouch for you? (Sorry for the distrust, but I've been screwed over a lot lately)

I can assure you I haven't tried to fix this myself, but I'm not so sure about the previous owner, are there any sort of distinguishing marks of bad DIY fix attempts?

I been repairing consoles from ebay, off and on over the years. (chain_heal 100% feedback)
If either of you end up sending me a console, include your return information, paypal email address (so I can send a invoice) and mention racketboys site/username.

Hey, can I get some sort of discount/combo deal on getting the YLoD and the BR Drive fixed?

I heard that the YLOD cannot be entirely fixed and it will always come back sooner or later. I have 60 gig PS3 that I've repaired at my local shop and it didn't last longer than 2 weeks. Can you fix the YLOD definitly?

It is called a "Reball". Price cost is around $100.00-$120.00

You probably got a reflow that wasn't done well. Reflows should last 4months-year'ish.
You can't see the quality of work that is done when performing this work. You either know what your doing or you don't.

Ok, I'm not sure to really get the difference between a Reflow and a Reball. How can I know what would be the best for my machine? Sorry if I don't understand, english isn't my native language. I'm really interested in your service if you can fix that problem for me.

Reflow means they heat up the board and hope that the solder melts back into place. If flux isn't used, then it isn't likely to work for long. Reballing means completely removing the chip from the board, cleaning both, applying new solder (as tiny little balls), and putting the chip back on like when it was made in the first place.
