Obama birth certificate finally released
Re: Obama birth certificate finally released
It won't change anything. The people stupid enough to argue that point are stuck on their hatred for the president and no amount of evidence will change that. If someone found a video of Barack's entire life from birth to 5 minutes ago they'd say in the last 5 minutes he teamed up with Osama and wants to make being white illegal. It's like the missing link issue, every time you find it the creationists now have two more missing links to point to.
Re: Obama birth certificate finally released
On an issue like Gitmo or something, I like to imagine that President Obama was all happy going into the presidency, looking forward to shutting it down. Then, he got read in on a bunch of classified security information and had a major "oh crap" moment.dsheinem wrote: As a candidate, yes. As president, unfortunately no.

Re: Obama birth certificate finally released
I'm sorry, but I have never heard that seriously discussed before. The issue was that there is a sizable amount of people (see the photos below!) who did (do) not like what is happening with the US gov't and found it possible that Obama was not born in The USA. Of course they jumped on it. I don't see any evidence for this being an issue of racism at all.AmishSamurai wrote:The whole "he was born in Kenya" thing was just people trying to legitimize the fact they dislike a black man being President.

Haha, I love America!

Re: Obama birth certificate finally released
That is exactly what I was going to say after reading Flakes post, since Nobel peace price winning Obama has out neo-con'd the master of neo-cons, G.W.B. I am still confused as to why the anti-war left, which was so vocal for 8 solid years is not saying a word at this clear and obnoxious contraction of campaign promise, making him out to be a huge hypocrite.dsheinem wrote:As a candidate, yes. As for the birth certificate, Obama should have released it the day someone brought it into question during his campaign run because 1) it is a clearly outlined constitutional requirement to be a natural born citizen and 2) it would have been the mature and responsible thing for him to do in order to put it behind him. Instead he tried to use it to his political advantage only to be publicly embarrassed by Trump when he gave into his demands. But then again, Obama is an embarrassment, so I am not surprised at any of this.
Re: Obama birth certificate finally released
I'm glad everyone else remarked on that bit too. The differences between Obama and Bush are negligible. It's really disheartening (but not unexpected) to see that the greatest hope for change in a generation turns out to be yet another neo-con. Democracy in America is well and truly broken.
Also, Limewater, I am unable to conceive of any potential classified information that would justify throwing away our system of justice. Even if we had Osama Bin Laden himself locked up in Guantanamo, he would deserves a trial, and a lifetime stay at one of our fine penal institutions. Those who advocate we abandon the rule of law because they are afraid are much, much more dangerous than any terrorist.

This is pretty much how I see him.saturnfan wrote:That is exactly what I was going to say after reading Flakes post, since Nobel peace price winning Obama has out neo-con'd the master of neo-cons, G.W.B. Questions about it:
-Why does the pattern in the background not "bend" with the fold of the page on the left side?
-Why does the pattern in the background disappear under parts of the signatures (ie. under "Obama" in 18a)?
That isn't me pointing those things out. I'm quoting others from a quick google search about it and these two things stuck out for me.

Hey, man, I didn't do it. It was the President! I don't know what secrets the government is hiding, or how conceivable they are.Hatta wrote: Also, Limewater, I am unable to conceive of any potential classified information that would justify throwing away our system of justice. But really, I'm not sure that the question of the status of the American justice system has been resolved with regards to prisoners of war/unlawful combatants/whatever they're calling the inmates.
But really, it sounds pretty unjust (terrorist?) of you to say that Bin Laden deserves a lifetime prison term since he hasn't been tried yet. That's for a jury of his peers to decide!

Must be photoshoped, it is the only reasonable explanation.Breetai wrote:

My own country has an election in five days, and I'm more interested in this Obama thing. At least America is interesting!

Re: Obama birth certificate finally released
This part is actually pretty unsurprising for a JPEG compressed image. JPEG compression is really bad at displaying sharp edges, such as text or signatures. As a result, in the regions very close to sharp edges, you just get a lot of ringing and lose any subtle detail like the background pattern. You also see this inside of the "D" in the same signature.Breetai wrote:
