I'm heading to Seattle University next fall to study Computer Science. They're about to start a 5 year Master's program, and I'm inclined to go for that. If I'm lucky I'll also get to study abroad somewhere east, preferably in China or Japan.

Graduated with a degree in English Lit. Wanted to teach, but later learned that my GPA was too low to test for the cert. My advice for aspiring teachers - Don't let you're GPA dip below a 3.0! Mine was a 2.5, and I was told my only options are to either get my Master's or go for another BA.
I've since moved on to the IT field, going for my certifications and seeking a foot in the door at some corp's tech department. Any advice from any Racket-techies here?
Xeogred wrote: I've been considering maybe going the certifications route though for awhile, has anyone here done that? I guess I'd go for the essential A+, and then I'd be interested in like Network+ and probably Cisco. Or maybe I can just find some other alternatives to school, specific training programs and whatnot. Who knows, right now I'm worried about money. lol
Studying for my Net+ right now, actually - test in a week and a half. Passed the A+ exam back in December and interested in going the Security+ route. I'll tell you what I was told - take the A+, Net+, and get your MSCDST (Microsoft's Desktop Support Tech exam.) - Those are the best three to start out with.. Any idea what avenue of IT you're interested in going?

Wow, that's a lot of schooling. What kind of career are you looking for?

I graduated in communications (Journalism) a year ago. I'm now applying for a Master's in design (I'm not too optimistic, but haven't given up hope). If I don't get approved, I'll apply for a Master's in communication by the end of the year and then pursue a doctorate.

Just about to finish up my junior year (undergraduate) as a Computer Science major (with a Math minor) at Stonehill College (very small college - if you don't live in Massachusetts, I wouldn't expect you've heard of it). Started off as a Math major, but switched after a year and a half. Don't have any current plans on going on to graduate school, but I'm not discounting it in the more distant future. I really have no idea what I want to do as far as a career right now.
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.

Extremely non-traditional student. I finish my bachelors degree in International Studies in two weeks, a scant 9 years after finishing high school.

For some reason, a particular scene from Tommy Boy comes to mind...
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
