Uh, also if they don't work I thought windows 7 has a windows xp feature? We need to get someone here who has windows 7.


I got my fallout 1 & 2 from gog and they worked on vista but you are running 7 so I really wish I could help you out in a better way. Try what I sent you before shelling out cash atleast it's worth a try. Send me a message back if you need help I'll be looking for a message from you all day today.

If you have 7 pro or above it has a full xp sp3 install for its compatibility mode.

I have not tried to install Fallout on 7 yet - but when I played it on XP from the dual pack I had a similar issue with it going black and spongy. I tooled around with it and found out it was an issue with Direct Draw. Once I updated that (meaning updated Direct X on my pc) it worked fine. When was the last time you updated your drivers?

A weird fix for me was removing ddraw from the files folder (obviously if anyone tries this make a backup), but yeah that fixed a lot for me.

Alright everyone, thank you for the help. I got the GoG versions and they work perfectly fine. Even though the advice you gave was ultimately not the answer you all still managed to be good company during this pressing matter and I thank you for your willingness to help.
