Re: I need help getting Fallout to work.
If you have 7 pro or above it has a full xp sp3 install for its compatibility mode.darth_blunted wrote:Uh, also if they don't work I thought windows 7 has a windows xp feature? We need to get someone here who has windows 7.
I have not tried to install Fallout on 7 yet - but when I played it on XP from the dual pack I had a similar issue with it going black and spongy. I tooled around with it and found out it was an issue with Direct Draw. Once I updated that (meaning updated Direct X on my pc) it worked fine. When was the last time you updated your drivers?
Re: I need help getting Fallout to work.
A weird fix for me was removing ddraw from the files folder (obviously if anyone tries this make a backup), but yeah that fixed a lot for me.fastbilly1 wrote:If you have 7 pro or above it has a full xp sp3 install for its compatibility mode.darth_blunted wrote:Uh, also if they don't work I thought windows 7 has a windows xp feature? Alright everyone, thank you for the help. I got the GoG versions and they work perfectly fine. Even though the advice you gave was ultimately not the answer you all still managed to be good company during this pressing matter and I thank you for your willingness to help.

I advised you to go the GOG route, so my advice was the answer!
