Why don't they just smarten up and remake RE 1-3 with the RE4/5 gameplay mechanics?

That... sounds like the worst idea I've heard in a long, long time.darthmunky wrote:Why don't they just smarten up and remake RE 1-3 with the RE4/5 gameplay mechanics?

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
lol, or just simply give RE2-3 the "REmake" treatment that they should've done years ago.
By the way that makes me want to say, betcha 10 bucks the HD Code Veronica release will truly be nothing but a straight up lazy port, with some enhanced lighting, textures, etc, and not be a complete overhaul like REmake.
From the screens and such we've seen already, it sure looks just like that. I mean damn, talk about lazy. RE4 looks good enough to HD up easily, but Code Veronica definitely looks a lot more dated and if they gave it a real makeover, then maybe I'd be interested.

I actually think that HD hurts RE 4. I prefer the grainy look to it.
Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
I will be honest, I am intrigued.
When I first heard of this, I was initially put off by the idea. I figured it was a lame attempt at making a Call of Duty Resident Evil hybrid and it wouldn't be very good.
The more I am reading and thinking about it, the more it interests me. If (and I do mean IF) they pull this off and it controls well and the co-op works well, I can see this being pretty good. The idea of an opposing force tracking down someone in a hunt/kill mission in the RE universe really does sound awesome.

Honestly can't argue against this, pretty good point.Opa Opa wrote:I actually think that HD hurts RE 4. I prefer the grainy look to it.
It's kind of like the charm of watching a low quality rip or release of some old horror movie or whatnot, that grain and whatnot can sometimes make the experience even better.

Guys, let's stay on topic here. If you want to complain about the state of the RE series, make another thread or at least take a trip over to the RE4/CV HD thread and talk about it there.

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
This is something I am looking forward to. I liked all Re's, untill 5 (not counting outbreak 1&2 and dead aim). I hope it works out and it sounds like it could add fun to the dying francise (for me anyway), I am not going to get the hd remakes unless they turned out to be like re1 remake for the cube.
But this game sounds great! I think they need to go back to racoon city, they don't have to do the mansion but racoon city is where we need to be at. When RE left Racoon city I just didn't like the games that much I mean I did beat 4 but I played 5 for like 20 mins and it hasn't hit my ps3 since....waste of a collectors edition in my eyes just sitting there collecting dust.
