Re: Virtual Boy Games on Nintendo 3DS
I think Nintendo will want to keep denying the Virtual Boy´s existence

It would be cool if they did, although I'm not sure they will go for it. They would have to write an emulator to run the games as they are, and probably have to rebuild the original games if they wanted to add some colour. Given the limited library of games I dont think it will be worth their time.

It's funny how people think it costs nothing to put some roms on VC. There are at least the following costs:Flake wrote:There are still development costs.BurningDoom wrote: Since the games are already produced, and it's digital media. Shouldn't the cost to Nintendo for putting it on Virtual Console be next to nothing? Why not give it to that small fanbase. It's pretty much all profit for Nintendo.
1. development costs to put the emulator together
2. project manager to oversee the project
3. QA/tester to test the emulator with the roms
4. Tech Support to be familiar with the new product
5. Artwork/website content for the new VC games
etc.

Plus copyright issues with EVERY game not made by Nintendo. That either means fees, or negotiations (which means time that employees have to work... more frees).gtmtnbiker wrote:It's funny how people think it costs nothing to put some roms on VC. Re: Virtual Boy Games on Nintendo 3DS
A color 4 player Mario Clash would be AWESOME
Re: Virtual Boy Games on Nintendo 3DS
I think the last thing Nintendo wants is people associating their new system with the Virtual Boy.

Re: Virtual Boy Games on Nintendo 3DS
I could see them potentially doing a compilation cart as a Club Nintendo reward. But I'd never expect a retail release of VB games. I doubt there's any significant demand for those games even among collectors.

A nice re-release/remake/update/something of Mario Clash and Wario Land VB at least would be really neat.

When you start spending that much money, you might as well make a sequel to Nester's Funky Bowling. There are at least the following costs:

Re: Virtual Boy Games on Nintendo 3DS
The guys on sites like CoolRoms and Romnation seem to be able to do it for cheap...
