PS3 HDD upgrade questions

I took out the standard 80GB hdd and tried to turn it on without any HDD, and it gave me the same wavy screen and then after about 15 seconds or so it says no HDD can be found. I dont believe that the western digitial i put in did that at all... ill try some youtube videos to see if i am missing something?

The good news is, your PS3 isn't fubared. You should just format the HDD in the computer and try again.

Getting the 500GB seagate hdd tonight..crossing my fingers and will try AGAIN.

HAHA worked! Not sure why the Western Digital didnt work, but the seagate one did? who knows..
