Almost all the best games can be played on the 360, I don't need the media center, and they are ugly as sin. No reason to get one, as far as I am concerned.
While I agree most of the 'good stuff' can be played on the 360 (though many with framerate and graphical issues) just from the few pages alone I read these games are not backwards compatible with the 360.

GunValkyrie
Voodoo Vince
Panzer Dragoon Orta (PAL) (Crashes on the third level, need 20 hours + to unlock level select)
Beyond Good & Evil
Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon
Obscure
Cold Fear
Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus
Metal Gear Solid 2

While I very rarely need it, with the price so many xbox games are now, I cant warrant packing up my xbox when a) there are so many unsupported games by the 360 and b) games that are supported usually run like ass unless it was one of there 'biggest hits'.

I'm going to have to do an article on the Xbox's software library as people don't seem to realize how good it is. In addition to what's been mentioned there is:

Metal Arms:Glitch in the System
Phanton Dust
MechAssault
Steel Battalion
Oddworld: Munch's Oddyssey(FAR better than Stranger's Wrath)
Jet Set Radio Future
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Kingdom Under Fire Crusaders(brilliant fusion of rpg/Dynasty Warriors/RTS games)
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Jade Empire
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2
Stubbs the Zombie
Hunter the Reckoning
Chronicles of Riddick
Dead or Alive 3
Shenmue II(though I'm not a Shenmue fan myself)
Full Spectrum Warrior
Armed and Dangerous(with hilarious weaponry rivaling the Ratchet and Clank games)
Crimson Skies
The Conker Remake(though I didn't like how they censored stuff)

and those are just off the top of my head. Add to that a ton of multi-platform titles that were best on the Xbox and you have a quality software library

Almost half of those are available on the PC, and most of the other half is playable on the 360. I see some merit to the oXbox library, but no compelling reason to get an oXbox for the 2-3 games that are not BC. It certainly has the weakest exclusives of its gen.

Given the hassle of backwards compability on the 360(bugs, glitches, missing games, et.)I'd rather just play on the original Xbox. Right now for example, I'm playing Oddworld: Munch's Odyssey and I've read of a nasty sound glitch that only affects the game on the 360 it seems. Microsoft's handling of backwards compatablity was pure shit and something they should have been embarrassed by in my opinion. Then there is the whole not being able to transfer saves, which means anything I've played before I'd be better off just picking back up on the original Xbox

And as many know I don't do PC gaming so PC ports of Xbox games are pretty much irrelevant to me personally.

The homebrew scene is a bonus. I need to delve into that some day as I keep hearing people talk about it

This is very true, and by far the weakest.

However I think a bigger fact is most games are better on the Xbox than on the PS2 and a big chunk of those games dont work on the 360.
