I used to visit a pool room in the early 90`s to play the arcade games and up the corner was a Space Invaders pinball and the owner seemed to be always messing about with it,it was always breaking down and i think that was their downfall, electrical, mechanical and optical there is simply too much to go wrong with them.
So owning one would be pretty cool but some electronic knowledge would be required. :)

I'm a console pinball fan, myself (Pin-bot, Dragon's Fury, Pokemon Pinball, etc.).
Actually, I think all home systems should have a decent pinball game in its collection (except N64, I don't think a one exists)

It would be cool to own a real table though. I just don't know where I'd put it.
...just another lost soul...

I quite like pinball when I get to play them.

But I'll be honest here. I have no idea what makes a pinball game good. Really. They all look the same to me.

It's all about the flow and the wizard modes. You can just feel a good table, like you can just feel your way around the shots and the orbits when you get into the zone. Pulling off the shots you require at will to complete the missions/objectives. Experiences players will know when a table isn't set up right or the mylar on the playfield is worn in the way the ball plays. It's all about learning the nuances of each table and the tricks to achieve high scores. Like when I play addams family, the first thing I do is unlock the free balls. Giving me 5 balls instead of the standard 3 right off the bat. Then I will unlock the vault multiball (locking the balls gives you 3 shots at getting the skill shot so I'll make sure I get my skill shot multiplier up early on in the game since it increases by 1million every time upto 5million, It's rediculous when you can skill shot every single time. The amount of easy 5m you can get is laughable), but not cash it, instead I'll work on getting the jackpot up. If the ball goes into the vault, then so be it. Once I've done the multiballs (you get The Thing multiball after the vault if you shoot the extra ball lock) I'll work my way around the mansion. That usually nets me about 25-50m a ball, especially if I get The Mamushka at full value and the Seance/Super seance.

Chupon,
my advice would be to forget about twilight zone, medieval madness, pirates, etc. and put a fraction of your money into a good machine that isn't hyped up to death. Here's an excellent site:

www.pinside.com

Or you could pick up the books by Michael Shalhoub. A very brief description and pictures of every machine made by the big guys.

And CP pinball in Roxana, IL is truly worth a road trip if you're an enthusiast. I love this place. Chuck will even take your calls and help you out with your pins.
