How about storylines again? Starting with Marvel vs Capcom 2 there has been a real lack of storyline linking the characters together.
I would also like all the artwork to match. No 3D/2D crap like CVS2 and MVSC2. Even SFIII:3S suffered from backgrounds that didn't match the look of the characters. Although the backgrounds in CVS1 were fantastic, the scaled Alpha sprites looked terrible against the high res art.

At first I thought it sounded ridiculous, but after some thinking, it would be best for most 2D games nowadays to be made in vector format. Even if not to that extent, the original 2D models should be in a vector format so as to make it easy to create raster images of the characters at any size with nice a sharp details. This way, porting would be a snap!baphomet_irl wrote:Yes I love vectors and seems as how the painting is being done in Photoshop, it could just as easily be done in Illustrator, and the paths and brushes would preserve perfectly at all scales, you could have some amazing zoom effects, and the sharpness would make Guilty Gear look like IK+ :p
Can't wait to see higher res images of that new game tho.
