And, yeah, the 2600 version of Asteroids. I got to the point where I could play forever without dying. Same with Laser Blast.
date sequence ?
At Gold Saucer, depending on who you've been nicest to until that point. Basically, if you insult or disappoint the women constantly, Barrett will reluctantly go out with you...in a totally heterosexual way of course.

I stopped playing FFVII shortly after the Gold Saucer portion. The game had some annoying issues for me but the Gold Saucer segment and the immediate bit afterwards really sealed the coffin. I kept wondering where my epic RPG went amidst all the stock/stereotyped characters and the ridiculous mini-games. That and most of the enemies made even less sense and were even less organic to their environments than the typical RPG. The whole game felt very disjointed and unnatural.

Hehe, I loved it for many reasons, and beat it 7 times, but I admit if I tried playing it nowadays, I'd hate it like I hate most RPGs. It wasn't my first RPG, but it was the first traditional one I enjoyed.

But that reminds me of another achievement. I mastered that damn Snowboard game at Gold Saucer. Odd fact: that minigame was so popular that it was authentically ported to mobile phones in Japan, polygon for polygon.

Yeah the ONLY traditional RPG I ever finished was Grandia 2 for the DC, years back. I for the most part I don't have the patience to play RPGs.

Edit: Of course it was for the Dreamcast.

I guess the only "noteworthy" acheivements I have are:
-Completing every level of Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3
-Completing "Super Mario Bros. for Super Players" on the GBC version of SMB
-Completing both the Famicom and the GBA version of Hoshi no Kirby (Kirby's adventure) 100% (not too hard really, but to do both is interesting in its own way I think)
-Playing 10-Yard Fight on the NES until it loops (once again, not hard, but the thing is: I love that game)
-Beating Super Mario 64 DS with all 120 stars (Not something I consider hard, but you'd be surprised how many people do think so)

Oh, and I've never played FF7 and never will! :P Quite an achievement in my opinion.

Because not doing something requires so much effort.

Regarding Kirby, try unlocking the most difficult reward on the NES original: the sound test. You have to beat the entire game in one sitting on hard mode. MetaKnight tends to own your ass when you only have 3 hit points. He was much easier on GBA, I thought.

The whole game seemed easier on the GBA. The minigames seemed better overall tho. I mean, there really isn't a point to playing the crane game or the shoot out. I can't remember the last one, but I think that one was actually fun to play out of the adventure mode. Plus, I could've sworn I got the sound test...but I'll check, cuz if not, I haven't played kirby in a while, so it'll be worth the effort.

I've also played up to RAAM on Gears of War on insane by myself, but I really haven't had time to try to kill him anymore. But I should try again, cuz I want to have at least one next gen accomplishment! 8)

Back in like 1992 and 93 I won the same tournament two years in a row playing super mario world, the first place price was a snes. I believe the challenge was the person to get the most points in 90 seconds won, from the start screen with no save game. Both years when I won it I took the snes back to Kmart traded it in for money then just bought games. heh.

I beat donkey kong country the first day it came out, I rented it put it into the snes and played it straight though. Not really that significant but a fun thing to remember.

Your only chance is if he gets stuck behind a box, like he keeps trying to walk to you but his path finding gets broke and he keeps walking into the box. It's an exploit but its more or less the only way to beat him on insane. Also, make sure to use the torque bow for headshots to clear away the bats (you can't hurt him when the bats circle him). No fancy bit of running around or any other trickery will beat him.

I say the same exact thing when people say to me: "You NEVER saw Forest Gump!?"
