It was a bit of a gut punch. Dammit, Namco. You were supposed to give us a "They lived happily ever after" ending, not a rhetorical one.
It is strange that such a cute game had a weird bittersweet ending instead of something happy. I kind of like the ending though.
I like it too

That's how I felt the first time I slipped up in Ico and the shadow creatures got Yorda or whenever I lost a few pikmin in Pikmin 2 after seeing a boss eat them.

I'm still in therapy

Oh geez, that was totally heartwrenching! I am SO looking forward to The Last Guardian and the PS3 remakes of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

Hope Noise doesn't read this but yeah, after that happened I was ready to straight up murder that colossus. Of course the death of that one wasn't as satisfying as when I finally managed to kill that damned bull.

The nice quiet ending where you could revisit every place in the game provided excellent closure to the game as you could end it when you were ready. Looking through the photo book was the icing on the cake in terms of reflecting back on the game that had so much damn charm for me.
Same, the end of Earthbound was amazing. It epitomized the era of 16bit rpgs.

Another moment that really touched me was when Rand sacrificed himself to save the party in Breath of Fire 2 and his mother takes his place. Really anytime that happens I get a little teary - FFIV was rough in that regard.

The only games that really got under my skin are Eternal Darkness and Missing: Since January. Breaking the 4th wall in a horror game = NOT COOL
