It took me over half an hour to find the first colossus, and even that was just on an explorational whim. I like the atmosphere, but I hate the feeling of getting nowhere after playing for a long time.

took me I guess 15-20 mins to find him. Although probably half of that time was figuring out how to climb up that mountain leading to him. But I think that's a big part of the game. Feeling lost and and confused and a bit helpless.

Could Shadow be one of the games that "pushed the limits" of the ps2? The game world is huge and now that I've beaten it several times I just explore and I always find something new.

Have you killed the first one yet?

I got the thirty minute demo of Shadow of the Colossus sent to me back when I was all Playstation Underground hardcore and loved the game, but for some reason never went out and bought a copy.

I'm probably going to forgo getting the PS2 version unless I notice it for real cheap and snatch up that Ico/Shadow of Colossus PS3 box later this year. I was never able to get further than the first Colossus in my demo and really want to know what I'm missing.

oh man I just made it all the way up to the top of the first one's head. I pulled my sword back to make a might strike... and lost my grip. :? At least now I know what I'm doing. :)

Certainly did artistically, I feel like SOTC is a great example of being "cinematic" without endless cutscenes, CGI and tons of unnecessary dialogue

I love Team Ico, they LIVE outside the box

2nd Colossus is dead.

I'm really going to stick to the "no guide" thing because it's making the game so much better. It took me a WHILE to figure out what to do with the second one, but it just made me feel so triumphant when I watched him go down. :)
