Indie hits are selling well
Re: Indie hits are selling well
I just picked up The Penumbra Collection and its fantastic. The New Back To The Future game, which I guess you could call indie is pretty good as well. Then theres Limbo. Its got to be one of the most exciting puzzle platformers I've played in a long time. I fixed my 360 just to play it and it was worth it.

Super Meat Boy has probably sold twice as many, if not more, on XBLA than on PC just because it's been out longer and there's been so much good press on it (it got high marks in many GOTY lists). The XBLA Indie Games have been getting a bit more exposure and sales, too. Most of the games are still pretty meh, but the "winter uprising" promotion raised the visibility a little bit and had a few good games.
It's all really a great sign - I agree.

I think part of the massive indie jump is the fact that the prices of games nowadays seems too high for what we're getting. People are charging $50-60 a game for something that may be beaten in 10 hours. Indie games may be shorter, but they're priced low enough you feel that you have gotten your money's worth.
