Its not perfect but it reduces the amount of dust on console by a huge amount. However you do get one dusty ruler which if put behind the consoles can get sucked in by fans and such. My physics teacher told me to do it back in the 9th grade and i've never not done it since. Monday, wednesday and saturday i just know i have to rub the ruler.

Only marginally on topic, but I REALLY hate the deep grooves that are all over the PS2 and on the back of the Model 2 Genesis. They don't seem to serve a real purpose, and getting caked-on dust out of them is no fun at all.
