Can anyone recommend a good Wireless PS2 controller?

I personally had the Logitech wireless controller. I loved it. Obviously this is personal preference, but I preferred the feel of the Logitech over the PS2 controller. I'm sure someone will call me crazy. Let us know what you settle on!

I have two of these as well. I haven't used them nearly as much as my official PS2 controllers, but I never had a problem with them. I like to use only official 1rst party controllers, but the feel of these Logitechs aren't bad at all.

I never heard of the Katana controller before. Kinda makes me wanna trade in my Logitechs for them.

I used to have an old, multicolored buttons Logitech wireless controller which was a great piece of hardware. I never had any serious issues with it, and I'm sure it'd still be working today if it hadn't been lost at college. A couple years ago I replaced it with a new Logitech wireless controller. Visually the old and new controllers look almost identical except the new one has stylized button icons all in white, rather than the colored icons on a normal PS controller. Mechanically, the new one has been quite disappointing. The R2 button has always had a tendency to stick, and now in the last month or so the left joystick has begun sticking as well. Lately I've been using a NERF branded wireless controller, and while it is aesthetically unpleasing, it works perfectly and has almost no latency.

So if you're going to go with Logitech, my advice is to stick with the older models and avoid the new style. I'd never heard of the Katana, but color me intrigued.

Another vote for the Katana controller. It is perfectly weighted, gets amazing battery life, is sturdy, reliable, and has a better D-Pad than the standard Dualshock. I have 4 of them, and I use them whenever possible. They cost a bit more than most PS2 controllers, but it controls like a dream, and is the closest-looking thing to a regular Dualshock, it is worth it.

Another vote for the Katana controller. It is perfectly weighted, gets amazing battery life, is sturdy, reliable, and has a better D-Pad than the standard Dualshock. I have 4 of them, and I use them whenever possible. They cost a bit more than most PS2 controllers, but it controls like a dream, and is the closest-looking thing to a regular Dualshock, it is worth it.

I like the original PS2 controller but I prefer the wireless Logitech PS2 controller easily. The controller feels light not too heavy and overall more comfortable to use. The battery life is amazing as well. I went through several different games including RPG's without having to switch the batteries which was sweet!!

I mean why not just stick with the regular wired controllers? Until the current generation, wireless controller technology just hasn't been there. Using AA batteries to power controllers is unappealing and all those third party controllers are rather terrible. Even the best ones from logitech that were $50+ when they were first released have a number of problems from mushy buttons that get stuck to imprecisely calibrated thumbsticks to general design cues that don't appeal.

About the best wireless controller last gen was the Gamecube's Wavebird, but even that wasn't perfect and most of the time I would default back to the regular controller.

personally I just like to clean up SOME of my wires.

Sorry man, there's no way I'm giving away these beauties. How else would I have 4-player Tales of the Abyss parties?

I never had any issues with the wireless technology for the wavebirds and the xbox logitech ones. They just worked and had really great battery life.

If you ever had to deal with untangling wires from 4 controllers that are plugged in, you'll definitely not want to deal with wires again. For a single controller, wired is not too bad.

I recommend the Logitech Cordless Precision (preferably the older model that's pictured below). Best wireless gamepad I ever used.



I would give you a link, but i can't seem to find a site that sells the older model. I bought a refurb off of Ebay for twenty-something dollars, but whoever sold them must be out
