I agree, but the spirit of the question still has merit. If the question was rephrased as "What are the top 3 video games or movies you would recommend to another gamer?" what would your answer be? Mine are as follows:

1) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES, GBA)

2) Metal Gear Solid (PSX, GCN, DC)

3) Beyond Good & Evil (GCN, Xbox, PS2)

Zelda is on the list because it is a personal favorite of mine. It was one of the first games I played in which I followed the plot and felt immersed in the story. Metal Gear Solid was so cinematic it made me feel like I was a character in a movie. There were so many subtle gameplay mechanics from smoking a cigarette to battling Psycho Mantis which were so incredibly unique and well thought out. BG&E is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated games of recent times. A fantastic story, a female protagonist who isn't just a sex symbol, and sub-missions which weren't tacked-on afterthoughts (like photographing the worlds' wildlife) all contributed to a truly wonderful and memorable game.

No, you're right. I'm being a hypocrite. A few years back I chained my grandmother up in the basement and forced her to play Ballz 3D. It's a good thing, too, because she died of dehydration only a couple of days later.

1. Rez-It seems sort of spiritual, transcedant
2. Ico-A game built around beautiful visuals and themes of love. Certainly not the worst thing to experience before death
3. Viva Pinata - It's a relaxing, happy game, don't want your last game to make you want to throw your controller at someone's head
