No idea. I've never used a backup in my Saturn.

As for the Dreamcast, a lot of problems with those backups tend to be based on the media (as in, make sure you are using quality CD-Rs - I use Verbatim for mine) and the rip/burn. A bad rip/burn will often have your laser doing more work than is good for it, but TuxTheWise had many rips that were made to alleviate the amount of work done by the laser - which oftentimes made the backup better than the original game.

Sigh...I need to stop dreaming.
I agree. Let's see it. They should also add Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2 to that. They are all 2D games after all, it shouldn't be all that hard to fit them on a modern disc.

Capcom has done quite well with the Mega Man collections and the Capcom Classics Collections, and even the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. If they made the Marvel Collection, it would mean more money for them, too.

The problem is that the PS2 is dead and they would want to make more money selling them individually as digital downloads on XBLA and PSN.

OT: Where did you find this person "Tux" and his work? I am definitely interested in optimized copies of DC games.

On topic, your best bet right now is to import the Saturn versions of X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Superheroes vs. Street Fighter, and find the localized (for your region) copies of Marvel Superheroes and X-Men: Children of the Atom. The NTSC-U Marvel Superheroes even utilized the 4MB RAM cart which wasn't even brought over to the US I believe. The best version of Marvel vs. Capcom was the Dreamcast version which had a 4 player tag team mode. I would love a collection all on one disc, but if Capcom ever did it, most likely it would all be digital distribution.

Which version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 do you all think was the best, the Dreamcast, PS2, XBOX, or PSN/XBLA version?

Dreamcast MvC2 = only difference worth mentioning from the NAOMI arcade disc is Anarkis doesn't have his infinite.

PS2 MVC2 = Cyclops assist loses invincibility. Occasional slowdown.

X-Box MVC2 = Definite slowdown depending on what is on-screen.

360/PS3 ports have another bunch of issues and things in them that are bugging fans. Most of it has to do with the specific timings of pressing a successive light attack and whether you will get light or medium of the kick/punch. There are more differences, but go read the thread in the MVC2 sub-forum of SRK forums.

Dreamcast is preferred for serious home play. PS2 or current-gen consoles are the next choice. X-Box 1 is avoided.

Capcom will never make a VS. series compilation, btw. The licensing would cost would eat into their profit too much.

Licensing fees from Marvel would probably make it impossible.

I would totally buy this. It sure beats paying 30-40 dollars for certain entries...Hell they could put each one separate on PSN and I would probably pick them up. MMMM Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter in HD...*drools*
